Many of you have already been informed of the recent passing of Kim Hyun Joong’s grandmother. I’m sorry that I’m so late with this update. When it comes to loss and heartache, I find it hard to convey my thoughts. For some moments in life, there are no words. It’s so easy to forget that the celebrities we follow and love, experiences the same things we do. They live, laugh, love and lose just like us. My prayers go out to KHJ and his family. I hope that 2011 will bring him much more happiness.

A fanfic for the New Year
"Nothin' On You"
She had been waiting for the blasted announcement for six hours. Six hours waiting for this connecting flight; sitting, waiting, fidgeting, but never sleeping. She was in a sleepless stupor when she realized that her eyes had affixed themselves on a person's collar bone. How or when they had appeared in front of her, she did not know.
She ventured to look up at the face of this person. To her surprise she was met with bright eyes staring, peculiarly, back at her. She flushed in panic and tried in vain to hide her embarrassment.
"I'm sorry," she mumbled. "I didn't realize I was staring."
To his credit, he shook his head, snapping out of his own reverie. "Um...I'm sorry?"
He had a lilt in his speech, which she attributed to English not being his first language. He was clearly Asian, but from where she did not guess. Nevertheless, she now had his attention.

Clearing her throat, she answered. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stare. I'm lacking sleep."
He nodded and she realized how puffy his eyes were. He looked more tired than her, she assumed.
"I think I was mindlessly staring as well," he smiled back genuinely.
She was floored; her breath hitched and her heart began to race. While he had looks, he was not as aesthetically beautiful as when he smiled. It was dazzling and pure. Whatever brand of beauty he had, she would gladly subscribe to.

His smile suddenly disappeared, leaving her bereft, not that she'd ever tell him that. Two people appeared, flanking him. One took a seat beside him and another stood, holding out a pad of paper and a pen. They spoke in their language and then he took the pad and proceeded to scrawl something on it. A lady appeared, completely red and shaking. He smiled at her and handed back the pad. She noticed that his smile was not as warm...
She put two and two together and realized he was a celebrity of sorts. She ventured to look around and a cluster of people littered their general vicinity. Some with cellphones held in front of them, evidently recording his every move. She flushed again and gathered her effects. His eyes locked with hers as she stood up. He captivated her.

Unsure of what to do she smiled bashfully, "I must be bothering you, then."
"Why?" His brows furrowed quizzically. "I was the one who sat in front of the pretty statue lady."
She smiled and decided to forgo all other notions. She extended her hands, and an audible gasp was heard all around. But as he took her hand, neither became aware of their surroundings.
"I'm Estella."
"I'm Raphael."
"I'm Estella."
"I'm Raphael."
